Currently, most of the manufacturers of stereo garages use traction drive for the stereo garage. The lifting height is much higher than that of ordinary garages, and it can handle various mid- to high-rise environments. It has relatively more parking spaces, and the functions of the access mechanism are also much more than other garages. However, it is not just a simple car elevator. So, what are the different types of stereo garages based on the access method?

1. Slide fork type

This type of car loading method is to install a set of multi-stage slide fork mechanism (generally three-stage slide fork) on the lifting device. When parking, the slide fork slides out step by step, lifts the car plate to the top of the parking space, gently lowers it, and then retracts the slide fork; when retrieving the car, first slide out the slide fork, slightly lift the car plate, and then retract the car plate and slide fork to the transfer device. The main drawback of the slide fork structure is that it has half the empty stroke, which affects the operating efficiency. When there is a large eccentric load during the action, the guide rail will bear partial bending moment, which affects the stability of the lifting mechanism.

2. Fork comb type and track conveyor type

Realize the access of vehicles through the relative staggered motion of the lifting mechanism and the two fork combs on the parking space. In this access method, it must be guaranteed that in the structural design of the fork comb, the transverse fork comb and the fixed fork comb can stagger without causing motion interference, and the transverse fork comb has sufficient space for up and down movement when storing and retrieving the vehicle. In the latter, the lifting and conveying device has two active tracks at the front and rear wheels of the vehicle. During lateral movement, these two active tracks can drive the passive tracks on the parking space to move the vehicle to the parking space.

4. Chain drive type

Use chain drive to achieve the access of the car plate through a small lateral movement and a lateral transfer. When parking, the first small lateral movement pushes the lateral movement mechanism together with the car plate for a short lateral movement, crossing the gap between the elevator car and the parking space; the second lateral movement smoothly transfers the car plate to the support frame of the parking space. The chain drive lateral movement device overcomes the drawbacks of the slide fork lateral movement device, but it requires higher level accuracy for the lifting mechanism. At present, variable frequency and voltage regulation and high-precision sensors are generally used to meet the requirements of level accuracy.

In comprehensive consideration of the technical difficulty of stereo garage and user requirements, many places mostly choose the vertical garage. Compared with other garages, its layout structure is relatively simple, which can greatly reduce the cost of the place and is easy to move and rearrange. Stereo garage manufacturers‍ claim that from the perspective of users, after reaching the specified target, the car can be quickly transferred by the lateral movement mechanism.
