In 2017, Shenzhen was listed as one of the first five pilot demonstration cities in the country to promote the construction of urban parking lots, attracting social attention.
"Parking difficulty" has been a hot topic in the field of transportation in Shenzhen in recent years. The huge parking gap has troubled Shenzhen car owners, and "being able to afford a car, but not afford to maintain it" has become the biggest concern for car owners.
On June 29th, the Development and Reform Commission and other departments of Shenzhen jointly released the "Special Plan for Parking Facility Construction in Shenzhen (2018-2020)", proposing to launch the "hundred thousand million project" for parking facilities, and to promote the construction of more than 100,000 parking spaces (excluding 350,000 parking spaces) by 2020, focusing on alleviating the parking difficulty in concentrated areas of public facilities such as hospitals, parks, schools, government offices, transportation hubs, tourist attractions, and old residential areas.
In the face of the huge parking space construction gap, it is particularly important to introduce social funds. The "Special Plan" proposes that by 2020, Shenzhen will build "hundred" public parking lot projects, renovate "thousand" old residential areas with parking facility construction needs, add "million" roadside parking spaces, create "6" Internet + smart parking informatization projects, and take the lead in building the country's first urban smart parking cloud platform, promote smart parking technology verification and access standards for existing parking lots, and gradually promote the smart transformation of public parking lots throughout the city.
